Customers shopping at the chain's branch in the center of Keln will identify themselves upon entry using a dedicate mobile app. They will then proceed to select items, and when they are done, they will walk out and receive a bill for their purchase via the app.
In addition to the cooperation with REWE, which operates some 9,500 stores worldwide, Trigo has already partnered with Shufersal in Israel and Britain's Tesco chain, which operates some 7,000 stores and has already launched a pilot of the Trigo technology in a branch close to its London headquarters.
