While most of the country is worried by the International Criminal Court's decision to open a criminal investigation into the Jewish state, some Israelis are in fact acting to help it along.

A group of 185 Israeli scientists, senior IDF reserve officers, left-wing activists, and spiritual leaders on the Left have called on The Hague not to believe Israel when it comes it the investigation of war crimes, according to a report in Haaretz newspaper.
In their request to outgoing ICC chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda, the group wrote: "We ask to express our suspicions, based on past experience, that Israel does not intend to seriously investigate reports of war crimes. Our suspicions are backed up by a very large number of documented cases that allegedly touch on war crimes Israel carried out in the occupied territories, a majority of which were not investigated and some of which ended in an acquittal following a superficial and inappropriate investigation.
"Many of us are in touch with human rights organizations in Israel and Palestine, and the extensive documentation in their possession could contribute to the court's work," the letter read.
Among the signatories to the letter are theater director Noa Chilton, choreographer Ohad Naharin, philosopher Avishai Margalit, former Open University President Jacob Metzer, Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium Principal Ze'ev Dgannie, and actress Einat Weitzman, according to the Haaretz report.
