Meretz leader Nitzan Horowitz's support of an International Criminal Court investigation against Israel cannot be considered "treason" or "aiding the enemy in times of war," the State Attorney's Office ruled Thursday.

The ruling followed an appeal by Itamar Ben-Gvir, head of the far-right Otzma Yehudit party, who asked Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit to launch a criminal investigation against Horowitz over his statement of support in the ICC.
Ben-Gvir slammed the decision, saying that the State Attorney's Office "is again trying to protect leftists by making excuses and ignoring the letter of the law."
