The decision by the head of the Knesset Guard followed a dramatic development in the coalition talks between Bennett and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Netanyahu has reportedly offered Bennett to take the premiership in a right-wing coalition government; in return, Netanyahu is expecting a series of measures that could help him out of his current legal difficulties.
Israel's longest-serving leader is on trial on several counts of corruption, all of which he denies.
Bennett has apparently rejected the offer, in a move that all but dooms Netanyahu's chances of forming a government before his mandate expires within hours.
It is feared the more extreme faction among Netanyahu supporters might attempt reprisal against Bennett, Netanyahu's one-time associate-turned rival.
