An emergency shipment of artificial intelligence (AI)-based air purifiers developed by Israeli startup Aura has been dispatched to India, Aura reported Wednesday.

Aura's air purifiers employ a series of steps that eradicates living material (including viruses) in a room's air, reducing them to 0.03% of the original levels. According to the company, even if a confirmed COVID carrier is in a closed room where one of its purifiers is operating, the technology reduces the risk of transmission to other people.
Yael Shemesh, who is handling the supply mission for Indian customers, said that the massive outbreak in India has created a "hysteria" of demand for protective measures that had been referred to Aura.
"We're happy we have the ability to help stop infections and are working to expand supply to additional parts of India," Shemesh said.
