Israel's coronavirus vaccination campaign, which kicked off Dec. 19, has had a significant impact on morbidity.

According to Health Ministry data released Thursday, Israel's coronavirus infection rate stands at 1.3%. Of the 39,661 people who tested for the virus, Wednesday, 489 were found to be infected with COVID-19.
There are currently 7,200 active cases of the virus, 385 of which are critical. Of those in serious condition, 187 are on ventilators.
Of the 833,281 Israelis to have contracted the virus since the outbreak of the pandemic, 6,214 have died.
On Jan. 1, Israel's infection stood at 6.1% as the country confirmed 6,023 new cases. Later that month, it increased to 9%. There were 732 people in serious condition. That number reached a record 1,193 by Jan. 17.
Israel's reproduction rate, or the number of people each person carrying the virus infects, jumped to the two-week high of 0.64, Wednesday. On Tuesday, the rate stood at 0.53.
This is nevertheless an improvement over January when the country's reproduction rate was higher than 1. On Jan. 22, a record 66 Israelis died of the coronavirus compared to the eight who passed away, Wednesday.
Over 5,244,481 people, representing over 56% of the country's population, have received at least one dose of Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine over the past three months. More than 4,785,534 have received both doses.
