During a press conference in Ramallah, China's envoy to the PA Guo Wei touted the shipment as delivering on China's pledge to "put vaccines at the service of the world."
Palestinian officials hailed the donation as one that will accelerate the local inoculation campaign, which began on March 21 with the elderly and other high-risk groups at the top of the line.
The 100,000 doses of the vaccine, which, as China says, is 70 percent effective against the virus, add to some 60,000 doses earlier secured by the PA from various sources.
Out of those, Gaza got about 20,000 shots, while also receiving about 60,000 doses of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine from the UAE.

This donation was reportedly orchestrated by Mohammed Dahlan, an exiled Fatah party member seen as a powerful rival to President Mahmoud Abbas.
In addition, Israel delivered the first shots to over 100,000 Palestinian workers holding valid permissions to work in the Jewish state.
