As of Sunday, Israel has recorded 831,924 cases of the coronavirus, including 6,185 deaths, dating back to March 2020. So far, 816,218 Israelis have recovered from the disease.
Health Ministry data shows that there are currently 9,521 active COVID-19 cases, including 468 patients who are in serious condition.
As for the national vaccination drive, as of Sunday, 5,221,046 Israelis have received their first shot, while 4,711,921
have been fully inoculated.
Bloomberg's rating, first introduced in November 2020, taps into the pandemics statistics like fatality and infection rates to identify the nations that are handling the disease in an optimal way.
It also accounts for the amount of disruption that the disease had caused in society, including restrictions on mobility and other regulations.
In the rating released over the weekend, Israel, which is now easing its restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the disease, joined the world's top-five coronavirus-resilient nations, following New Zealand, Singapore, Australia, and Taiwan.
Bloomberg noted that the fast-paced vaccination push means that Israel is able to move faster with reopening its borders, while the other nations in the top five have to keep those under tight control.

As the new infections plummeted, the country moved to lift many of its restrictions, including a cap on citizen arrivals from abroad, now defined by the airport's capacity to handle the passenger flow in line with safety guidelines.
