Comedian George Segal, who starred in movies such as Blume in Love and Look Who's Talking and sitcoms Just Shoot Me! and The Goldbergs, has died at the age of 87.

"The family is devastated to announce that this morning George Segal passed away due to complications from bypass surgery," Segal's wife, Sonia, said in a statement on Tuesday.
"We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of George Segal. He was a true icon and legend in this business and an integral member of our Sony family," Sony Pictures TV, which produces The Goldbergs, said in another statement.
Segal also starred in The Longest Day and Ship of Fools for which he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture category. In 1964 he received the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year, which he shared with actor Chaim Topol.
He won two Golden Globe Awards, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for his performance in A Touch of Class.
