Agence France-Presse said a copy of the 25-page document highlighted the "criminalization and prohibition of using weapons ... during electoral activities."
The 14 signatories also committed to respecting the outcome of the upcoming legislative and presidential votes, the first in some 15 years, slated respectively for May 22 and July 31.
Under the code, the factions also committed to refraining from inciting violence against either candidates or voters and refrain from using places of worship for campaigning.
Rhetoric fueling "sectarian" frictions will also be frowned upon, AFP reported.
