Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is slated to arrive in the United Arab Emirates on Thursday for a historic first official visit, a senior Emirati Foreign Ministry official informed Israel Hayom Wednesday afternoon.

According to the official, Netanyahu was personally invited by UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed.
"There are a few final details that have to be arranged before the official announcement is made," the official said.
Netanyahu's scheduled visit to the UAE will come 12 days before the March 23 Knesset election and is expected to include a meeting with Bin Zayed on tensions between Israel and its regional allies and Iran, all of whom are waiting to see whether or not the US will renew nuclear talks with the Islamic Republic.
Netanyahu was originally scheduled to visit the UAE and Bahrain in February, but that plan was cancelled due to Israel's third lockdown.
