Three children died on Thursday in southern Israel after being trapped in a room that had caught fire. The three apparently suffocated and all efforts to resuscitate them failed.

It appears that the source of the fire was a heating device or some improvised bonfire.
"We tried to perform CPR for more than an our but eventually we had to pronounce them dead," the physician who treated them told Israel Hayom. The three children are brothers and sisters, and were apparently trapped for more than 15 minutes before being evacuated because family members struggled to break through the doors.
"We ask that parents watch over their children; people must realize that carbon monoxide caused by smoke inhalation can be very common during winter months, and we see quite a few children being treated each year for this," the physician added.
