"Of course, I don't agree with where Ibtisam Mara'ana's place is in in the Labor party as a Zionist party. I think she's supposed to be somewhere else," she said in an interview with Channel 13 News.
In social media posts last year, Mara'ana, now No. 7 on the Labor party list, said she enjoyed ignoring the siren on Holocaust Remembrance Day. She has since
Asked whether she herself stands during the siren, Yazbak, a member of the Balad party, said, "Honestly, it's an important and interesting issue. We don't stand for the Holocaust siren because it is a universal crime, and the Israeli government is trying to make it an Israeli-political issue, and it's not."
Yazbak emphasized the Holocaust was "a terrible crime, but what I'm trying to explain is that the government is trying to use this crime for political ends that will serve the country and the government."
