Israeli women have been reporting menstrual bleeding after being administered the COVID-19 vaccine, leading to increased scrutiny by officials. The women, which have shared the experience on a Facebook forum called Talking about Vaccines, have reported an early period and various other instances of bleeding.

Although it is unclear if there is a causal relationship between these reports and the vaccine, the Health Ministry has been asked to review the matter and it is expected to come up for discussion on Wednesday.
Edva Lotan, the CEO of an organization that seeks to educate the public on health and a member of a special committee in the Health Ministry that regularly reviews the vaccine, said: "Even though such a side effect has not been reported in the trials for the vaccine, there have been many reports in recent days on social media, and I plan to raise this matter in the committee. If it turns out that this is linked to the vaccine, it would further underscore the need to collect data following the approval of the vaccine."
Roni Maimon, the chairman of the Israeli Association for Obstetrics and Gynecology, told Israel Hayom: "I have heard about this but I cannot see a direct relationship between the vaccine and an early period or bleeding, but we must keep in mind that indirect reasons could be exhibited in the hormonal cycle of women during the pandemic. This could be attributed to a change in one's lifestyle, increased stress, or a change of eating habits."
