Israel's Eco Wave Power, an alternative energy company that produces energy from ocean waves, has won the European Commission's prestigious BlueInvest Award in the People's Choice category, the company announced Thursday.

The award was delivered to Eco Wave Power by Virginijus Sinkevičius, Commissioner for the Environment, Oceans and Fisheries of the European Commission. Sinkevičius congratulated Eco Wave Power and said that the "People's Choice" Award had a special significance, as it showed the general public's interest in implementing the technology.
Eco Wave Power CEO Inna Braverman said, "I am very grateful for winning the People's Choice Award … Thank you for supporting Eco Wave Power's mission of changing the world, one wave at a time!"
"I always say that passion is the greatest renewable energy source, and it is, even stronger than the power of the waves! Keep believing!" Braverman urged.
