According to the official, following delays in the supply of Russia's Sputnik vaccine, Jerusalem will provide the Palestinian Authority with between 5,000 and 7,000 doses of pharmaceutical giant Pfizer's vaccine to be used on Palestinian medical workers.
Although the Russian-made vaccines were supposed to have been delivered to the Palestinian territories last week, it remains unclear when they will arrive.
The PA official noted that although Israel had agreed to provide Ramallah with the vaccines, hundreds of doses may ultimately be transferred to the Gaza Strip, for use on medical staff. However, the official emphasized medical workers in the West Bank would be prioritized for inoculation.
