A 16-year-old boy was listed in serious condition on Monday due to complications from COVID-19.

The teen has been in the pediatric intensive care unit at Kaplan Medical Center in Rrhovot for a few days.
According to director of the pediatric ICU at Kaplan, Dr. Eli Shapiro, "After a few days in intensive care, the teen's respiratory situation improved. However, he is still receiving non-invasive breathing assistance. The pediatric ICU team gave him anti-viral injections along with supportive treatment.
"We need to understand that the pandemic is not a thing of the past, and sadly, the virus can cause complications even among adolescents," Shapiro said.
