Michigan Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, a supporter of the anti-Israel boycott, divestment and sanctions movement, was part of a recent panel on anti-Semitism hosted by the Jewish Voice for Peace – a left-wing NGO focused on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The panel, dubbed "Dismantling Antisemitism, Winning Justice" saw Tlaib, who had faced charges of anti-Semitism from Jewish groups, proclaim that she, in fact, rejects anti-Semitism.
She added that advocating for Palestinian rights was not a display of anti-Semitism and that those guilty of hatred for Jews are those on the right-wing.
Rep. Tlaib is under fire for remark she has a 'calming feeling' that her #Palestinian ancestors provided Jews a 'safe haven' after the Holocaust, but her inaccurate account of history dismisses Jews' right to their ancient homeland and contradicts the facts, says @michellemakori: pic.twitter.com/K5pPQ7IZlr

The message was shared by three other noteworthy speakers, who included Marc Lamont Hill – a former political CNN commentator fired after a call for a Palestine "from the river to the sea," a notion seen by Israel as a veiled call to dismantle the Jewish state, which Tlaib also used on certain occasions.
Also taking part was Peter Beinart, a Jewish essayist who recently called for a binational Israeli-Palestinian state as a solution to the conflict.

The event was condemned by multiple Jewish groups and commentators, including Bari Weiss – an ex-New York Times editor who left the newspaper after accusing it of a lack of objectivity, including an apparent anti-Semitic bias.
