Supermarket magnate Rami Levy and fellow businessman Shalom Haim acquired struggling local carrier Israir Airlines and Tourism on Wednesday, for 75 million shekels ($23 million).
The bid was chosen by IDB Development trustee Ophir Naor, who has asked the court to approve the deal.

Israir made history earlier this week, becoming the first Israeli carrier to fly to the United Arab Emirates through Saudi Arabia. This cut the flight time by half.
