Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit on Thursday filed a motion with the High Court of Justice asking it to compel the government to appoint a permanent police commissioner after nearly a year of delays.
The nomination is one of several key appointments stalled by the political deadlock between coalition partners Likud and Blue and White. Mendelblit has asked the court to order Public Security Minister Amir Ohana to move ahead with the selection process "without delay."
