Coalition Chairman Miki Zohar has been interrogated for alleged extortion, the MK revealed on Facebook Thursday.
Zohar was summoned to the Israel Police's Lahav 433 Major Crimes Unit and was questioned over controversial comments made during an interview with Israeli radio station 130.fm several weeks ago that were widely interpreted as a subliminal threat against the Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit, although Zohar denied this.

During that interview, Zohar, who is considered one of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's most fervent supporters, warned that "if Mendelblit doesn't resign or rescind the indictments" against Netanyahu, "there will be an earthquake." He also implied that there were yet-to-be-aired recordings of Mendelblit that could presumably cast him in a negative light, like recordings that had been released just before the interview.
Zohar took to Facebook to claim his innocence. "I won't hide my surprise over this, especially in light of the fact that this investigation is designed to muzzle me simply because of a position I made during a radio interview," he said. "This investigation is beyond the pale, against a public official from the Right."
