Guatemala on Friday designated Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. The designation reportedly includes all of the Iranian-backed Shiite group's branches.
Overnight Friday, Estonia, a member of the UN Security Council, announced that it, too, has labeled the Lebanese movement a terrorist group.

Sudan, Israel's latest partner is peace, is also considering designating Hezbollah as a terrorist group, al-Arabiya reported.
Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi lauds decisions. "I am happy to see that the multi-armed diplomatic effort led by the Foreign Ministry and [Israel's] security forces to advance the recognition of Hezbollah as a terrorist organization is bearing fruit worldwide," he says.
Ashkenazi further congratulated the "Guatemalan government and my colleague Foreign Minister Pedro Brolo on joining this recognition and I call on more states in Latin America to fight terrorism carried out by Hezbollah all over the world."
This last development makes Guatemala the eighth country to designate Hezbollah a terrorist group in 2020.
Estonia declared plans to impose massive sanctions on Hezbollah, including barring entry into the country "to any member or affiliate of the group whose activity supports terrorism."
Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu asserted that "Hezbollah poses a considerable threat to international – and thereby Estonian – security."

With this decision, the small East European country joins the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, Lithuania, Argentina, Paraguay and Israel, as well as Arab League member Bahrain.
Some countries, such as Australia, The Netherland, and France, only classify Hezbollah's military wing as a terrorist organization.
