The ministerial committee tasked with finding the next state's attorney will convene on Oct. 19, Justice Minister Avi Nissenkorn ruled on Tuesday.
The committee will be headed by Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit and include senior officials from his office, the State Attorney's Office, and the Justice Ministry, as well as academics.

Deputy State Attorney for Criminal Matters Shlomo Lemberger is said to be the frontrunner for the position. Another frontrunner is Military Judge Advocate General Maj. Gen. Sharon Afek.
