US Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) warned on Tuesday that the possible sale of F-35 fighter jets to the United Arab Emirates could endanger Israel's national security, according to The Jerusalem Post.
The representative further added that such a transaction "would compromise the qualitative military advantage of the Jewish state," arguing that the F-35 has "unique capabilities that should be reserved for Israel's sole use."
"The UAE is a country to which thousands of Iranians travel regularly, especially intelligence agents, who will seek to obtain sensitive information on these planes," she continued.

"Obviously having a more militarized region will not make it safer for Israel or for American interests," Wasserman Schultz concluded.
The highly controversial issue has been a point of contention and debate in Israel, and whether the sale of the highly advanced aircraft was part of a US-brokered peace deal between Israel and the UAE.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has denied that he signed off on the stipulation but both UAE and US officials have signaled that the possible sale of the military aircraft to the Arab country is an option.
