Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid said Monday that the party will not hold internal elections for its leadership "in the foreseeable future." The statement followed a demand by several MKs in the party, including Lapid's No. 2 MK Ofer Shelah, who said they would challenge him for the chairmanship.

Yesh Atid will, however, "devise a way to hold primaries in the future, most likely somewhere in 2021," he said, adding, "No one gives me ultimatums and we won't be pressured into anything – I will not allow the same phenomena that ruined parties like Labor and Kadima to gain a foothold in Yesh Atid."
