A planned strike by teachers that would have blocked the start of the school year has been temporarily averted, the teachers' union announced Monday morning.
The union threatened to strike unless the government could provide solutions to educators at increased risk of contracting coronavirus.
The union said that the legal groundwork for a strike has been postponed until Thursday, Sept. 3, to allow continued negotiations.
