Israel has set a negative record for the daily number of newly diagnosed coronavirus cases, the Health Ministry said Tuesday, noting that between Monday and Tuesday, 1,888 Israelis had tested positive for it.
Since the global pandemic hit Israel in mid-March the country has recorded 105,063 cases, including 865 deaths. The Health Ministry said 859 people are currently hospitalized with coronavirus of whom 424 are in serious condition and 178 are in moderate condition.

Some 83,013 Israelis have recovered from the virus.
Several hospitals have warned that their corona wards were at full capacity.
Health Ministry Director Professor Hezi Levi warned Tuesday that "if the number of patients in serious condition reaches 600-700 and we also see an increase in the number of patients on ventilators we will have to sound the alarm and say drastic measures are necessary to reduce morbidity for us to continue providing patients with adequate care."
Also on Monday, the IDF's Home Front Command said it plans to shutter seven coronavirus hotels across the country by the end of the week.
Three hotels in northern Israel were closed last week.
The military cited a variety of reasons for its decision, primarily low occupancy and the impending beginning of the new school year, but it is believed budgetary reasons are also at play, as operating these hotels costs the state millions of shekels.
A Home Front Command official stressed that the military can reopen any of the closed hotels within 48 hours if the need arises.
