Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke on Saturday, following Ankara's announcement of a massive natural gas discovery in the Black Sea.
Erdogan said the discovery of the offshore field, believed to contain 320 billion cubic meters of natural gas, was Turkey's biggest to date.
"Turkey's success is the PA's success," Abbas told Erdogan and reportedly also thanked him for his support for the Palestinians' statehood demands.

Erdogan reportedly replied, "We support the Palestinian position rejecting Israel's annexation plans and any move toward normalization with Israel before Palestinian independence is achieved in full, including a state with east Jerusalem as its capital."
