The Health and Education Ministries have agreed to wait until the last week of August to decide when and how the 2020-21 school year will begin, based on the coronavirus conditions.
Next week, ministry officials will hold another meeting on the school year start date. The Health Ministry has suggested opening the school year based on its "traffic light" system. Cities or towns designated "red" will start school at an unspecified later date, rather than the traditional Sept. 1, with the rest of the country.
