Likud MK Yifat Shasha-Biton, head of the Knesset Committee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, criticized the government Monday for keeping cultural venues closed while rolling back restrictions on every other industry.
"Something's not right if the only thing we can't make sense of is how to allow cultural institutions to operate. That's the only sphere that actually fully adhere to directives, we can know exactly who was where and when, and we don't allow them [theaters and other venues] to open. All the Health Ministry has to offer are excuses. Everyone knows cultural events can resume and there's no reason not to do it. Artists and entertainers are not the government's hostages," she blasted.
