Public Security Minister Amir Ohana (Likud) announced Tuesday his resignation from the Knesset, in order to give his seat to Amit Halvevi, number 39 on the Likud roster.
Ohana is the first Likud minister to invoke the controversial Norweigan law, which stipulates that a minister may step down from his position, allowing for another member of his party to take his place – all the while maintaining his position in the government.
