The longstanding protest encampment outside of the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem, which was recently removed, had been operating for years without a permit from the Jerusalem Municipality, Israel Hayom learned Monday.
The encampment, which previously consisted of a small number of people holding signs, has become a flashpoint in the growing social unrest of the past few weeks, prompted by what protests say is the government's failure to deal with the second coronavirus outbreak.
