Eva Mozes-Kor, a Holocaust survivor from Auschwitz who symbolically adopted Rainer Hoess, the grandson of the extermination camp commander, ended the relationship after discovering he was a crook.

Following Israel Hayom publication of the article on Hoess' criminal past, Mozes-Kor's son, Alex, told the paper that his mother had completely severed all ties with Rainer Hess a few months after the media "adoption."

"Rainer should be in jail," Alex Kor tells Israel Hayom, "My mother ended the relationship with him less than eight months after she met him."

Kor provided Israel Hayom with evidence regarding the ending of the relations between his mother and Hoess, which he currently refuses to publish in public, explaining that it is private correspondence.

According to this evidence, Mozes-Kor informed the grandson of the Auschwitz commander of the severance of their relationship on April 24, 2015, shortly after the two appeared together at a trial held in Germany for "Auschwitz's accountant," Oscar Groening.

It should be noted that Mozes-Kor and Hoess appeared together on one of the most-watched shows on German television, three days after the relationship came to an end, as well as in two documentaries released in the last three years, without any mention of the rift between them.

"Thinking that she could help a troubled man, she wanted Mr. Hoess to conquer his demons. Over a period of time, she realized that he had issues that were too complex. Once known that she could not help, my late mother distanced herself from Mr. Hoess in the early part of 2015. It was Mr. Hoess who continued to use my mother's genuine attempt to befriend him for his own purposes."
