"My father was released from the Israeli prison in Ofer, he is now at home and is in good health," said Owais Yousef, son of Hassan Yousef, considered a top spiritual leader for the terrorist organization in the West Bank.
Hassan Yousef was arrested at his home near Ramallah in April 2019 and placed in administrative detention for six months.

His detention was initially extended for an additional six months, then a second time for four months, his son said.
Administrative detention is a provision that allows Israel to detain Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable periods for up to half a year.
Yousef, 65, had already been released at the end of 2018 after 10 months of administrative detention.
A former spokesperson for Hamas in the West Bank, he is known to have disowned his son, Mosab, who admitted to having worked as an informant for Israel's Shin Bet security agency under the alias of the "Green Prince" during the Second Intifada between the years 2000-2005.

In 2019, Suheib Yousef, a younger brother of the "Green Prince," deserted his post in Turkey, flew to an undisclosed Asian country, and then gave an interview to an Israeli journalist in which he excoriated the terrorist organization's corruption.
According to Suheib, Hamas intelligence gathering "isn't for the Palestinian cause," but is rather sold "to Iran in return for financial assistance," which arrives through Turkish banks.
He slammed Hamas for its ruthless quest for power "by force."
