Likud officials over the weekend castigated Sephardi ultra-Orthodox party Shas for publicly criticizing Netanyahu's policies on a host of issues and for reportedly seeking closer cooperation with Blue and White.
"They're in a very convenient position. Blue and White are working 24/7 to appease them, so they get whatever they want," one Likud MK said.

The Haredi factions, he noted, "don't care about matters of security and they don't share our position on the judiciary. As long as they get what they want, namely budgets for yeshivahs, all is right in the world. [Blue and White leader Benny] Gantz and [Justice Minister Avi] Nissenkorn are doing the right thing by giving them what they want."
According to the Likud official, Shas leader Aryeh Deri "is his constituency's captive. His voters want Netanyahu. His voters won't accept same-sex marriage or public transportation on Shabbat, etc. and at the end of the day, Blue and White and Shas have nothing in common. We [Likud and Shas] share an ideology.
"Likud is a conservative party and our alliance [with Shas] runs deep. Other parties have nothing to offer them," he concluded.
