Montenegro, with a population of 7.9 million, has seen only 324 confirmed cases of coronavirus, with nine deaths.
According to the Montenegrin standards, if Israel's confirmed corona cases drop to 25 per 100,000 citizens, approximately 2,250 or fewer, Israeli tourists will once again be welcomed. But as of Sunday, there were over 3,000 confirmed cases in Israel, with no sign of the infection rate slowing.
The decision comes after Cyprus last week dropped Israel to a B rating for incoming tourism over concern about the rise in coronavirus cases in Israel. According to the Cypriot policy, this means that Israelis may still visit, but only if they can present documentation of negative corona test results from the 72 hours prior to their arrival.
The Republic of Georgia was awaiting Israeli tourists, but pushed the date at which it would open its gates from mid-June to the beginning of July. Moreover, Georgia has yet to decide whether or not Israelis will be required to present proof that they are negative for coronavirus.
