"Unidentified drones" bombed a military base used by pro-Iran militias in eastern Syria killing 12 people, Arab media reported on Sunday.
The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the Meizileh base, used as the headquarters of Iranian militias in the region was the target of eight drone strikes just before midnight.

The 12 fatalities were said to be Afghan and Iraqi militias.
According to the report, the strikes took place a few days after the Iranian-backed forces "brought in significant reinforcements" to the base, including a military convoy of 30 vehicles and missies.
The strikes reportedly destroyed training facilities and weapon storage hubs.
Iranian bases in the Deir ez-Zur region in east Syria have been targeted by Israeli airstrikes in the past as part of Israel's efforts to prevent Iran from gaining a stronger military foothold in the war-torn country, which is Israel's neighbor to the north.
Last week, Syrian media accused Israel of targeting a weapons facility in Masyaf, in northern Syria, killing nine people and causing massive damage.
