Israel's infection rate has remained moderate despite the easing of the lockdown and resumption of major economic activity, the National Security Council said in a new report on Sunday.

The report said that despite the gradual lifting of restrictions – including the reopening of shopping malls and schools, and the granting of permission to hold gatherings of up to 50 people – only 3,149 new cases have been diagnosed over the past four weeks.
Almost 60% of new cases are from previously confirmed patients in Israel, whereas for 39% the infections could not be traced. In 3% of cases the patients had contracted the virus abroad rather than through local community spread.
The rise in cases over the past 10 days stands at 0.1% – far below what's necessary for the pandemic to spin out of control.
As of Sunday night there were 2,336 active cases in Israel (out of a total of 16,712 confirmed cases since the pandemic began) , including 41 people who are in serious condition (34 of them on ventilators).
A total of 130 patients are hospitalized, while 390 are in special quarantine hotels. Almost 1200 are in self-quarantine at home.
