Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reaffirming his obligation to accept the US vision for peace.
In a ceremony marking 53 years since the reunification of Jerusalem, the prime minister said President Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital advances the city.
Netanyahu also stressed that he and his partners in the new government were ready to negotiate with the Palestinian Authority on the basis of the American plan.
"I said in Washington that I was ready to negotiate on the basis of the president's vision of peace, and after the establishment of the national unity government – I say it again today. I was delighted to hear this week that my new partners in the government also hold this position".
