"My 'happiness' in life is to be able to practice every day and day my purpose... cooking... Gastronomy has something unique, it bounds people, culture and ideas, and with this uniqueness, I was connecting with my staff (that I admire), with my guests from all around the world, and finally with myself."
Roth, one of the hosts of the hit reality cooking competition Game of Chefs, went on to thank his staff, "for following my vision," and the Michelin Guide, for "trusting me from the first moment."
He ended the post, writing, "I WILL BE BACK!"
Roth opened the restaurant in August 2012, with at an investment of nearly €2 million ($2.1 million). The eatery broke the Michelin record by achieving two stars just three months after opening.
The Michelin Stars for excellence rating is considered the highest honor in the restaurant industry. Only 2,290 restaurants in the world have one Michelin Star, 414 restaurants have two Michelin Stars, and only 113 restaurants in the entire world boast the coveted three-star rating.
