US Federal law enforcement warned recently that white supremacist terrorists were considering weaponizing the coronavirus and contaminating non-white neighborhoods with it, British daily The Independent reported on Sunday.
Intelligence gathered by the Federal Protective Service said that white supremacists using the encrypted messaging app Telegram were discussing spending "as much time as possible in public places with their 'enemies'" to transmit the virus.

They also discussed targeting law enforcement by leaving "saliva on door handles" and elevator buttons at government offices, the agency said.
Yahoo News quoted the brief as saying, "Violent extremists continue to make bioterrorism a popular topic among themselves" and that "white racially motivated violent extremists" had expressed an "obligation" to spread the coronavirus should they become infected.
The Federal Protective Service, a branch of the US Department of Homeland Security, believes that several white terrorist groups were seeking to maximize the potentially devastating effects of the virus, which has triggered a global pandemic.
The report noted that last month, FBI Director Christopher Wray told the House Judiciary Committee that the threat of far-right domestic violent extremism has risen to a "national threat priority" for 2020, posing a "steady threat of violence and economic harm" to the US.
