Vice-Chairman of the World Zionist Organization Yaacov Hagoel issued a strong condemnation on Monday after anti-Semitic graffiti was inscribed on posters featuring Jewish candidates running in the French municipal elections.

"The many anti-Semitic and racist inscriptions on the posters of candidates of Jewish origin in France deserve sweeping condemnation. These demonstrations of hate are outrageous and unacceptable. I am very concerned about the continued hatred of French and European society as a whole," he said.
"Governments, education professionals and law enforcement agencies must fight against anti-Semitism like they fight viruses; they must defend democracy and find a cure for this malignant disease: anti-Semitism. I want to send my support to our Jewish brothers and sisters living in France and urge them to continue to raise their heads with Jewish pride," Hagoel said.
