Israeli chef Gal Ben-Moshe has won a Michelin Star for his Prism restaurant in Berlin, the Michelin Guide announced earlier this week.
The Michelin Stars for excellence rating are considered the highest honor in the restaurant industry. Only 2,290 restaurants in the world have one Michelin Star, 414 restaurants have two Michelin Stars, and only 113 restaurants in the entire world boast the coveted three-star rating.

With his win, Ben-Moshe, 34, joins a very exclusive group, as only two other Israeli chefs can boast Michelin stars: Chef Moshik Roth, for his restaurant & moshik in the Netherlands and Chef Erez Ohayon's La Bottega del Buon Caffé in Florence.

The Berlin-based Prism is a fine dining restaurant, named after the perspective on Middle Eastern kitchens that characterizes Ben-Moshe's cooking style.
Ben-Moshe has been living in Berlin for eight years. His first restaurant in the German capital was Glass, an urban-style eatery, which he ran for five years. Prism's concept draws on Middle Eastern ingredients and various cooking techniques, from sous vide to a charcoal grill.
"This is the greatest confirmation we could have hoped for," Ben Moshe told Channel 13 News. "I've been dreaming of this my whole life."
