You wanted us to settle for leftovers. You thought you could buy us with budgets. You treated us as if we were less of a people – a community at best, and let's make sure the Arab language is not an official state one.
Now, when the screeching swan song of the defendant at the Prime Minister's Resident is coming to its end, we can officially say – you failed. The Joint Arab List stands united and strong, and the Arab public and tens of thousands of Jewish partners will see us secure unprecedented representation in the Knesset.

This fact seems to frighten many on the Right, but our common interests will benefit all Israelis and bring equality to all the minority populations: From the Ethiopian youth who was arrested by the police for no wrongdoing, through the haredi raising his children in poverty, to the elderly who depend on social security benefits – we will work for you, the public, and not for the millionaires who send us cigars and champagne.
We are the ones who share life itself with you. It is no longer a secret that you bore Netanyahu.
But let there be no doubt: A society on whose behalf territories are occupied will always suffer from discrimination within its borders. True equality cannot be achieved without just peace, and peace depends on an Arab-Jewish partnership. To give up on peace is to give up equality and social justice, and to surrender to a reality that harms us all.
