New-York based Israeli movie director Yuval Adler will write and direct the first season of a new show based on a best-selling book about Israel's targeted assassination program, according to the entertainment website Deadline.
The show, co-produced by HBO and Keshet International, will be based on the best-selling book Rise And Kill First, written by Yedioth Ahronoth and New York Times journalist Ronen Bergman.

The first season will reportedly focus on the operation targeting former Hezbollah military commander
Imad Mughniyeh, who was killed in a car blast in Damascus in 2008 in an operation that Hezbollah has attributed to the Mossad and CIA.
The assassination followed a years-long manhunt for the man, who, with the exception of Osama Bin Laden, topped the CIA and FBI Most Wanted list.
Mughniyeh was also the architect of the terrorist bomb attack on the Jewish community in Buenos Aires and a close ally to Iranian general Qassem Soleimani – the powerful leader of Iran's expeditionary Quds Force who was killed in a US drone strike in early January.
The hunt for Mughniyeh in the mid-2000's became one the largest, most expensive and complicated in history.
Adler is the director of Bethlehem, a thriller-drama released in 2013 focused on the relations between a Shin Bet security agency operative and his Palestinian informant.
The show will be the second joint HBO-Keshet product, the first one being Our Boys – a controversial miniseries about the murder of a Palestinian teenager in revenge for the killing of three Israeli teenagers – which hit the screens in 2019.
