CNN may have prevented their star anchor from interviewing Vice President Mike Pence on the sidelines of the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, taking place in Israel next week.
According to an item in the New York Post's Page Six, the White House offered CNN's Wolf Blitzer an exclusive interview with Pence during his visit to Jerusalem next week, but the cable news network declined.

Blitzer, whose parents are Holocaust survivors and paternal grandparents were killed in Auschwitz, eagerly agreed to do the interview but CNN President Jeff Zucker nixed the idea.
Why? He reportedly decided impeachment coverage was far more important than running a story favorable to the Trump administration.
"Zucker stepped in and said Wolf isn't going anywhere because the network will be 'all impeachment, all of the time' next week. CNN's anti-Trump bias is so intense, they can't even broadcast a sympathetic interview for Holocaust remembrance," a source told the Post.
Over 40 world leaders will descend upon Jerusalem next week including England's Prince Charles, King Felipe VI of Spain and Russian President Vladamir Putin.
At the moment, it doesn't appear CNN is interested in sending anybody to do the interview in his place and would rather focus on the Senate impeachment trial taking place in Washington, DC next week.
"Wolf was offered the interview. We declined because the Senate impeachment trial is next week and Wolf will be leading our coverage. So he can't be out of the country. And frankly, we wouldn't be in a position to send any of our anchors on an overseas trip taking them off the air for days next week when the Senate trial will be underway," another CNN source told Page Six.
The New York Post added that the White House confirmed it offered the interview exclusively to Blitzer and that plans for the vice president's media interviews while visiting Israel next week were not finalized.
On Wednesday, President Reuven Rivlin is set to host a historic state dinner with 250 guests in honor of the heads of state who will arrive in the country. The following day, they will all participate in the 5th World Holocaust Forum, titled 'Remembering the Holocaust, Fighting Antisemitism,' at Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem.
