It's not every day that Iranian protesters go out of their way to respect the Israeli and American flag, but this past weekend's popular unrest against the ayatollah regime may suggest that the Jewish state is no longer automatically considered an enemy of the Iranians, despite 40 years of propaganda by the regime.

In various online videos that surfaced on Sunday and Saturday, one can see students taking part in rallies to protest the government's cover-up of the downing of a Ukrainian jetliner, which killed scores of Iranians.
"You are responsible for this, you are lying to us that the enemy is America, but the enemy is right here," they were heard chanting in the video.
Iran initially tried to blame the crash on a technical malfunction but later conceded that its air defense mistook the aircraft for an American cruise missile, as this was just hours after Iran struck a US base in Iraq and was expecting retaliation.
In the videos, the crowds chant against the security forces, while avoiding the floor murals of the Israeli and American flags, originally painted for propaganda purposes of disparaging the two nations (using one's shoes to step on something is considered particularly insulting in Islamic tradition).
