Twitter has suspended numerous accounts affiliated with the terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah, Arab media outlets reported on Sunday.
Immediately after learning of the suspensions, Hezbollah-affiliated television station Al-Manar accused the US-based social media platform of giving in to "political pressures."

The IDF praised the move late Saturday evening, with spokesman Jonathan Conricus posting snapshots of the suspended accounts and writing on Twitter that "recognized terror groups should never have a platform for their violent extremism."
Kudos to @Twitter for suspending the accounts of terror groups #Hezbollah and #Hamas.

"There is no place on Twitter for illegal terrorist organizations and violent extremist groups," a Twitter spokesperson told AFP on Sunday.
The accounts in English, French and Spanish were also not available, but the Twitter handles of specific television shows seemed to be functioning.
In October, a group of bipartisan US lawmakers assailed Twitter over its policy of allowing Hamas and Hezbollah to maintain presences on the social media platform, News website The Hill reported.
In a letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, four House lawmakers criticized the company's decision to support accounts even for groups designated as "foreign terrorist organizations" by the US government, particularly Hamas and Hezbollah.
