Cautious of possible Lebanon-style protests shaking the Gaza Strip, Hamas operatives have been arresting activists, Israeli media reported on Thursday.
Quoting Gaza sources, the reports said that dozens of arrests have been conducted recently as Hamas targets those with ties to left-wing and centrist groups, including its Ramallah rival Fatah.

The arrests came in response as calls for protests spread over social media, in an echo of the rallies that shook Gaza in March 2019.
The spring protests prompted a brutal retaliation from the Islamist terrorist group that controls Gaza with an iron fist, and its security forces used violence against Palestinians protesting their economic plights.
Now, fear hangs in the air in the Gaza Strip, with people too scared of more violence to take to the streets.
It also said that some of the calls for rallies apparently came from sources affiliated with the Palestinian Authority, possibly, intelligence officers.
