The Israel Defense Forces confirmed Wednesday that a drone that was on "a routine security mission" over the Israel-Lebanon border had crashed on the Lebanese side of the security fence.
The IDF did not say whether the aircraft was downed by enemy fire or crashed over a technical malfunction.

Earlier, Lebanese media aired conflicting reports about the incident, with some saying the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorist group had downed the drone, and others claiming a Lebanese civilian downed it with a shotgun.
Last month, Hezbollah's Al-Manar television reported that the group had shot down an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle flying over southern Lebanon, near the Israeli border.
